Hello, my name is Christina Schneyder, and I warmly welcome to you in our video series “Tips and Tricks for Companies When Hiring People with Disabilities.” I am the Managing Director at the Austrian Federation for Vocational Inclusion. Our goal is to support both companies on their journey toward an inclusive workplace and individuals with disabilities in their search for employment.

This time, we’re talking about special grants and support measures when hiring people with disabilities.
As an employer, you can receive funding for workplace accommodations, such as a computer or a chair, or for adjustments in your building that make work easier for an employee with a disability in the long term.
You can receive compensation for a disability-related decrease in performance from your new employee. A portion of the salary is financed for you.
And there is the possibility of unpaid internships that are paid for by the state. Both you and your employee can try out whether the job is suitable for both of you.

Contact the vocational assistance network in your federal state.
