Hello, my name is Christina Schneyder, and I warmly welcome to you in our video series “Tips and Tricks for Companies When Hiring People with Disabilities.” I am the Managing Director at the Austrian Federation for Vocational Inclusion.

Our goal is to support both companies on their journey to becoming an inclusive workplace and individuals with disabilities in their search for employment.
This time, we are focusing on the topic of inclusive job postings and providing you with two simple tips:

First, you can address the diversity your company values and desires, while emphasizing accessibility.

You can provide examples, such as:
You offer flexible working hours and remote work options, a quiet room, and spaces for retreat.
The position can also be filled on a part-time basis.
You have an accessible office with an elevator, an accessible restroom, or other facilities that enable barrier-free access.
Your company is open to workplace accommodations for people with disabilities.

Secondly, describe the job in the job posting as detailed as possible.

Focus on the essentials and formulate the tasks clearly. This way, applicants can determine whether they can fulfill the tasks.

For example, does the new employee need to carry or lift objects or work materials? And up to what weight? Avoid providing only qualifications or education information in the job posting.

Well, those were my two tips, with which you can very easily make your job advertisements more inclusive and, as a result, reach a large target audience of potential applicants.
One final recommendation, if diversity and inclusion are important to you: Contact the NEBA Business Service in your federal state. It supports you with all questions and topics related to vocational inclusion.
